Officer-involved shooting under investigation in uptown Charlotte; public urged to avoid area

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An officer-involved shooting is currently under investigation in uptown Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

The incident happened Sunday morning, July 6, in the 600 block of North Church Street. CMPD’s Homicide Unit is handling the investigation, and authorities are urging people to avoid the area.

Details about what led to the shooting are still unclear, and police have not released information about any injuries at this time.
