Motorcyclist killed in Monroe County crash

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Monroe County Saturday night.

According to a press release, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of West State Road 45 and Airport Road around 6:08 p.m. to investigate a “major traffic crash.” When police arrived at the scene, they located a motorcyclist with fatal injuries.

After an investigation, sheriff’s deputies determined the driver of the Harley Davidson motorcycle was involved in some sort of collision with a Chevrolet Cruze. Police identified the motorcyclist killed in the crash as 24-year-old Hunter Warthan of Bedford.

Per MCSO, the intersection of State Road 45 and Airport Road was closed for more than four hours to allow deputies to clean up and investigate the crash.
