A large segment of the storm system broke off from Chantal to the west and dumped 3 to nearly 5 inches of rain in Robeson County Sunday morning.
Around 11:30 a.m., three different areas of I-95 were closed due to flooding, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The northernmost I-95 segment closed by flooding is from mile marker 30 to 33 in both directions, according to an NCDOT alert. One lane in each direction is closed near St. Pauls, authorities said.
About 10 miles south of that, a lane is closed on a segment of I-95 for two miles in both directions, the NCDOT said. The inner lane of I-95 is closed in both directions from mile marker 21 to 23 near U.S. 301.

Meanwhile, another segment to the south near Lumberton was also closed.
The left lane in both directions is closed near I-74 at mile marker 14, according to the NCDOT.
Both incidents should be clear by 1:30 p.m. the NCDOT said.

Traffic cameras in two areas show standing water beside I-95.
