Washington led Haynesville High School to consecutive state championship appearances the past two seasons. Although the Golden Tornado lost the 2024 Division IV Non-Select title game versus South Plaquemines 20-7, Washington was responsible for Haynesville’s lone score: with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jermarquis Hampton.
The Tigers commit has also shown success on the track. During the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field finals, Washington won the Class 1A boys’ 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best 14.77-second performance, and the Haynesville star also claimed the triple jump crown, thanks to a 13.96 meter finish.
From skill position to the trenches, the Bayou Bengals nabbed Cooley from a neighboring state with two SEC rivals. Currently at West Jones High in Mississippi, Cooley chose LSU over Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Cooley became the Tigers’ third Mississippi-commit: Joining five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys (Hattiesburg) and fellow four-star offensive tackle Emmanuel Tucker (New Albany). Tucker and Cooley are also the highest-rated tackles in their state (first and second respectively).
LSU now has 14 commits in their 2026 class, and the Tigers are ranked top 10 on multiple website: 6th on On3 and 10th on 247Sports.
