ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford firefighters worked to extinguish a two-alarm fire at a condominium on Ampitheatre Drive early Saturday morning. Ultimately, the blaze caused $150,000 in estimated damages to the home.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews were called to the 600 block of Ampitheatre Drive, near E. State and Bell School Road, at 12:21 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the two-story structure.

A ruptured gas line necessitated the participation of Nicor Gas, ComEd, and the Rockford Building Department.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one of the six units in the building.

No one was injured, officials said. Only one adult was displaced by the fire.

Authorities said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but also ruled the fire as accidental in their incident report.
