According to the Corbin Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Baptist Health ER in Corbin on July 1 in response to a reported assault in the intake area.
Officers reportedly learned after getting to the hospital that Darrell House, 58, of East Bernstadt, had allegedly assaulted an ER staff member and another patient.
“The staff member sustained a visible injury to the face as a result of the altercation,” Corbin law enforcement alleged in a Facebook post on Saturday.
House was arrested and charged with third-degree assault of a healthcare provider, a class D felony. He was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
The assault investigation remains ongoing.
