Southern University’s Human Jukebox to perform at 2025 Essence Festival
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Southern University’s Human Jukebox marching band will perform at the Essence Festival of Culture on Saturday, July 5, as part of Coca‑Cola’s “The World Is My Yard” initiative supporting students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The event will take place at 4 p.m. at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. It will also feature the Emmy award-winning team behind “The Hidden Sport” documentary, which highlights untold stories of Black excellence in sports and culture.
