According to the Salem Fire Department, one of their technical rescue teams was called to assist in a rope rescue at Abiqua Falls, located just outside Salem along Crooked Finger Road.
With further aid from Silverton Fire and Marion County Search & Rescue, crews found a man who had fallen from a steep canyon trail and injured his leg.
Since he was unable to climb up on his own, officials said emergency crews used 300-foot ropes and a pulley system to bring the injured man to safety.
