Juvenile girl fatally shot in home in NC, deputies say
MCLEANSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Law enforcement is investigating the homicide of a young girl in Guilford County.

According to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to a home on the 5000 block of Hooper Road in McLeansville about shots being fired around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

At the scene, they found a female juvenile who had been shot. Deputies have classified this as a homicide.

“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the young victim,” deputies said in a news release. “A life taken far too soon is a tragedy no family should ever have to endure. Our Detectives are working tirelessly to seek justice on her behalf.”

Deputies say this is an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the community.

The investigation is ongoing.
