Stevens started at second base and batted ninth in his debut. He went 0-for-4 in the Angels 5-1 win over Atlanta.
Stevens is the first UP alum since Cooper Hummel in 2022 to get the call to move into the big leagues. His time with the Pilots ran from 2018-21 where he batted .291 in 170 games with 198 career hits, 14 home runs, 46 doubles, and 90 RBIs.
He made the All-WCC conference team twice (2019, 2021) and in his senior year lea the Pilots in batting average with a career-best of .333 in 49 games. That same season he hit eight home runs, 19 doubles and 29 RBI. At that time, his 19 doubles were the most by a UP player since Kris Kauppila in 2009.
Stevens rounded out his college career ranked seventh in program history in doubles (46), 11th in runs scored (118), 12th in stolen bases (32), 13th in total bases (294) and 15th in hits (198).
There have been 69 players in UP history drafted. Stevens is the 11th Pilot of all time to make the big leagues.
