A new study by personal injury law firm GBG analyzed FBI crime data and revealed that Texas ranks #6 in the U.S. for identity theft, with 372.26 reports per 100,000 residents in 2024.
That means Texas has one of the highest rates of identity theft in the nation, putting residents at an increased risk of fraud, financial loss, and data compromise.
The study ranked all 50 states by the number of identity theft cases per capita, shining a spotlight on where Americans are most vulnerable. While Texas cracked the top 10, other states are seeing even higher rates.
