Oregon State’s Catarina Ferreira to represent Brazil in FIBA Women’s AmeriCup

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State senior guard Catarina Ferreira will make her first international appearance as a member of Team Brazil for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, the team announced last week.

The Sao Paulo, Brazil native is coming off a successful season after winning the 2025 WCC Tournament MVP and leading the Beavers to the NCAA Tournament.

She was chosen to represent Brazil after two exhibitions against the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, earning her one of 12 spots on the roster. The tournament runs through July 6 in Santiago, Chile where Brazil will face Argentina, Canada, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.

Ferreira will return next season to complete her final year of eligibility at Oregon State.
