LAFAYETTE, La. (
KLFY) –
A total of nine
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Football players earned spots on the
2025 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team, the publication announced, headlined by first-team selections Jordan Lawson and Tyree Skipper on defense.
Lawson, a standout defensive lineman, and Skipper, an anchor in the Cajuns’ secondary, led a group of honorees that featured players on both sides of the ball and special teams. The Ragin’ Cajuns placed at least one student-athlete on each of the four preseason teams, further solidifying the program’s consistent presence among the Sun Belt’s elite.
Running back Zylan Perry and offensive lineman Jax Harrington were named to the second team on offense, while Perry also earned third-team recognition as a kick returner. Joining him on the third team were running back Bill Davis, wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr., offensive lineman George Jackson, and linebacker Cameron Whitfield.
Offensive lineman Bryant Williams rounded out the list of Cajuns with a spot on the fourth team.
Louisiana, which has produced 70 All-Sun Belt picks over the past five seasons, continues to build a reputation for depth and talent across the board heading into the 2025 campaign.
The Ragin’ Cajuns open their season on Aug. 30 against Rice in the opening game of the newly refurbished Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium.
