The suspect was identified as Marc Morgan, 60, of Stafford.
Deputies watched the hand-to-hand transaction in the parking lot of the Super 8.
Search warrants were obtained for Morgan, who was found in his Mercedes. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and searched his vehicle, where suspected controlled substances were found.
More bags of controlled substances were also found in his motel room, according to SCSO.
The substance was identified as cocaine.
Morgan was charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
