The efforts made by the city and residents to cut back on their outdoor water usage, in addition to Syracuse City reducing its usage from the shared tank and increasing its well water contributions, have improved water levels in Clearfield City.
Despite these efforts, city officials say the pump damage was greater than expected.
Residents may resume their outdoor watering in a limited capacity and are being asked to reduce their regular outdoor watering duration by half until further repairs can be made.
While one pump will likely be operational by the end of the day tomorrow, full repairs may take a week or more.
“Thanks to your conservation efforts the water level in our tanks is improving. We’re in a better situation than yesterday; thanks for doing your part!” the city said in the press release.
