Body found in Lake Pontchartrain near site of missing boater search

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department confirmed a body was found in Lake Pontchartrain on Thursday, July 3.

According to the NOPD, the body was found in the water near the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive around 6 a.m.

On Wednesday, officials with the U.S. Coast Guard announced a search for a missing boater after a boat was found in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive.
