By rssfeeds-admin Names of active-duty service members, veterans, those who lost their lives in the line of duty, and first responders are written on each American flag.
More than 800 of them are placed in the grass. Organizers said the display is about more than just the flags.
“For them to have a place to come to and have that support, it means the world to me,” said Amanda Crosby, volunteer with the Mooresville Exchange Club. “Some of them want to talk to you, and some just want to sit with you. I look forward to this every year; it makes me think of my father. It’s so beautiful to see!”
Thursday evening, organizers are holding their annual summer celebration at 6 p.m. at the Lowe’s Y on Morrison Plantation Road. It will feature live music, food trucks, and fireworks.
