Abilene property owner fined $27K for ‘dragging his feet’ on plan for rehab

Board of Building Standards members voted this week to fine this property owner $100 a day for every day they were out of compliance, beginning on October 2 of last year, which was the day this property owner failed to submit a completed rehabilitation plan as agreed. This means the property owner was out of compliance for 272 days.

The property is a multi-story building located at the corner of N Willis Street and N 6th Street. Neighboring businesses have been complaining ab out debris falling from the building for some time.

This building has also been for sale since July 23.
