On July 2nd, around 5:12 p.m., a Stephenson County Deputy spotted a vehicle driven by Darren Miller, 36, of Freeport.
Police said the deputy knew Miller was driving on a revoked driver’s license, and attempted to pull him over at Business 20 and Springfield Road.
However, Miller reportedly sped away from the pursuing officer from Freeport Road onto Adams Avenue, at speeds over 100 mph.
Three occupants of the car jumped out when the car came to a stop at Adams Avenue and Float Avenue.
Miller was caught in the 500 block of S. Liberty Avenue.
Passenger Trarrell Thompson, 25, was caught by a Freeport Police Officer. A third passenger was last seen running near Ottawa Avenue and Winneshiek Street, but got away.
Police said inside the car, authorities found 8 pounds of cannabis.
Miller was charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, aggravated fleeing to elude police, and driving on a revoked license. He was held in the Stephenson County Jail pending the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
Thompson was charged with resisting arrest and was released with a notice to appear at a future court date.
