50 Top Pizza, an Italian organization focused on highlighting the world’s best pies, has released its 2025 list of the best pizzas in the U.S. — which includes four local awardees.
Ken’s Artisan Pizza was Portland’s highest-ranking entry at No. 8. It also earned the Latteria San Salvatore Award for its dessert menu that includes vanilla bean panna cotta, affogato, house-made ice cream and a “blondie brownie.”
The eatery is no stranger to the recognition. Just last year, 50 Top Pizza highlighted the Kerns neighborhood spot as the 27th-best pizzeria across the globe.
On this year’s nationwide list, GRANA on East Burnside Street landed at No. 25 — surpassing last year’s ranking by two spots. Portland’s Nostrana was also highlighted at No. 29, while Hapa Pizza in Beaverton was awarded for the first time in the 47th spot.
“What a huge honor to be here among all these pizza legends,” Hapa Pizza wrote on Instagram. “Never would have imagined being recognized by the most prestigious international pizza judges when we started baking pies at @beavertonmarket a few years ago… Feeling immensely grateful for our amazing team and everyone who helped us get here. This award is for all of us.”
The top U.S. pizzerias overall are New York’s Una Pizza Napoletana, Los Angeles’ Pizzeria Sei, San Francisco’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, Kenmore, N.Y.’s Jay’s and New York’s Ribalta, according to 50 Top Pizza.
Outside of the main ranking, the organization also lauded the nation’s “excellent pizzerias.” Three Portland spots, Apizza Scholls, Lovely’s Fifty Fifty and Scottie’s Pizza Parlor, were highlighted for their excellence.
50 Top Pizza recognized these businesses during an awards ceremony in New York on Tuesday. The organization will hold its global awards ceremony in Naples in September.
