The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced on July 2
The FSIS said the products were shipped nationwide to retail locations. Laboratory testing showed the products may be contaminated with listeria which can cause serious infections in older adults, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women.
The FSIS reports that no confirmed cases of illness have been received yet in connection to the recalled products. People who have concerns are encouraged to contact a healthcare provider.
Some people may still have the recalled turkey bacon products in their refrigerators or freezers. If you purchased one of the recalled products, you are urged to either throw it away or return it.
People with questions regarding this recall can contact the Kraft Heinz Food Company consumer hotline at 1-800-280-7185 or by sending an email to consumerrelations@kraftheinz.com. You can also get in touch with the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline by calling 888-674-6854 or by sending an email to mphotline@usda.gov.
