LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An Arkansas coalition has relaunched in its ongoing effort to fight opioid abuse in Arkansas.

Together Arkansas (TA) relaunched its website on Tuesday. TA officials said it provides free tools and resources to Arkansas employers to promote drug-free workplaces.

TA is a coalition between the Arkansas State Chamber, Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield and the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership.

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield President and CEO Curtis Barnett talked about the impact of opioid abuse on businesses.

“The opioid epidemic continues to be one of the biggest threats to people’s lives and health, their families and loved ones, humanity overall, and it weighs heavily on business and our economy today,” Barnett said. “Progress has been made in our state through all of us working together, but providing Arkansas employers with tools to address a problem as pervasive as opioid-use disorder is as important as ever.”

The President and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber and Associated Industries of Arkansas said opioid misuse has impacted 75% of Arkansas businesses, indicating the need for the TA initiative.
