According to a news release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old Darrell Lewis has been preliminarily charged with:
At around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 400 block of West Bunker Hill Road on a report that a man entered the driveway, aimed a firearm at a person and left in a truck. The man was later identified as Lewis.
The release said that law enforcement officials went to Lewis’ home and attempted to contact him. Officials said that they were “met with verbal assaults and gunfire” from inside the home.
This response caused the Morgan County SWAT team to be activated. The release said that after two hours of attempting to contact Lewis, he reportedly came out of the home on his own accord and was taken into custody.
The release said that the Morgan County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charges in the case.
