Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrests two men in separate child porn cases

(KLFY) — Two Acadiana men have been arrested in separate incidents of possession of child pornography, authorities said.

Christopher Michael Ahlers, 52, of Abbeville, is charged with 50 counts of pornography involving juveniles.

Jay B. Pierret, 60, of Youngsville, is charged with one count of possession of pornography involving juveniles and two counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.

Ahlers was already incarcerated in the Vermilion Parish jail on related charges by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office and was re-booked on the charges listed above. His bond amount is $200,000.

Pierret was booked into the Lafayette Parish jail and released on $35,000 bond.

Both arrests were made by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation from tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Ahlers’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the LBI and the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Both investigations remain ongoing.
