The northern suburbs are currently in a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for seeing a strong or severe thunderstorm. The biggest threat would be 50-60 mph winds if it were to develop.
Future Outlook
Spotty, isolated showers and possible thunderstorms will develop in the heat of the afternoon, but rainfall coverage will be sparse, only impacting about 20-30% of the metro area.
Lake Michigan Forecast
Water temperatures have warmed noticeably thanks to the streak of warmer than normal days. For area Mariners who might have the day off, conditions on the lake will be ideal Wednesday with wave heights generally a foot or less.
Wednesday sunburn forecast
Strong sun continues with unprotected skin risking a sunburn in under 20 minutes at peak time, 1pm, according to Dr. Bryan Schultz.
