DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Over two months after a deadly hit-and-run on a busy Dale County highway, the suspect in the case has been extradited to Alabama to face charges.

Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum said Tony Atkins waived extradition to Alabama and deputies brought Atkins from Grady County, Georgia, on Wednesday. Atkins has been held in the Grady County Jail since his arrest in early April.

Atkins is charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid in the death of Troy Williams. Williams, a bicyclist, was found dead in a ditch along Highway 123 on April 7 under a mile from his home in Midland City.
