LINCOLNTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a domestic incident led to an officer-involved shooting at a park in Lincolnton.

Officers were called to Betty G. Ross Park on Madison Street, around 1:27 p.m. in response to a ‘domestic incident’. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot multiple times.

Officers said this led to an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead at the scene. Police did not give details on what led up to the fatal shooting.

No Lincolnton officers were physically injured during the incident.

The woman is in critical condition. The identity of those involved has not yet been released.

The NC State Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation.
