WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Lyons man was found guilty in a shooting that injured a Lyons police officer and another man back on Oct. 16, 2020.

On Friday, Adam Hrabik was convicted by a jury of attempted capital murder of a law officer and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting happened in Lyons after Sgt. Cory Ryan responded to a call regarding a dispute. Ryan was shot several times and needed several surgeries. Teacher Brian Friess was injured when he was caught in crossfire during the confrontation, police said. He also recovered.

The sentencing for Hrabik is scheduled for August 21 at 1 p.m.
