SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Young athletes in Shreveport have an opportunity to learn from an international professional ball player and native of the city during an upcoming basketball camp.
LaMonica “Noodle” Plater is partnering with SPAR to bring a basketball camp to youth at Woodlawn High School on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Plater is a graduate of Woodlawn High School, attended Xavier University of Louisiana, and graduated from Grambling State University in 2023. Since then, she has played in the Eurobasket League.
In a news release announcing the camp, Plater said, “This event is not just about basketball, it’s about shaping the future of the young and talented athletes in Shreveport and the surrounding areas.”
The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3 through 12. Space in the camp is limited, and registration is required. For more information, call or text 318-543-1327 or call 318-525-5665.
