Abilene building destroyed by 2-alarm fire

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene building was destroyed by a 2-alarm fire Saturday night.

The fire happened at a commercial property on the 1000 block of Oak Street around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Abilene Fire Department. This building has a sign outside that reads “Terry’s Tire Shop”.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building and a second alarm was quickly sounded.

Backup arrived and firefighters worked for hours to contain the flames and keep the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

The fire caused an estimated $90,000 worth of damage, and the building has been deemed a total loss.

No further information is available at this time as the investigation continues.
