AUSTIN (KXAN) — As we approach the Fourth of July, you may be interested in seeing or purchasing fireworks.
If you plan to purchase and use fireworks, be sure to check where their use is legally permitted, as restrictions can vary by location.
In the city of Austin, it’s “illegal to possess or use fireworks inside the City limits” unless you have a permit issued by the Austin Fire Department Special Event Division. Anyone who violates that law could receive a citation and a possible fine of up to $2,000.
