ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — The Savannah Bananas made their way to a Dunkin’ store in Alexandria on Saturday morning to surprise a lucky young fan.
The team continued its Banana Ball World Tour with two games at Nationals Park on Friday and Saturday. Though in the area for only two days, players were able to make a pit stop to surprise guests ahead of their matchup with the Firefighters.
For a few hours on Saturday morning, they served orders and treated guests to free giveaways. One fan was in for a particularly sweet treat, however.
9-year-old Sebastian Banh was surprised by the team with five tickets to the Savannah Bananas’ Saturday game
Banh was diagnosed back in February with a Sonic Hedgehog medulloblastoma, a cancerous brain tumor. He has since undergone radiation treatments and a craniotomy to remove the tumor and is now undergoing chemotherapy.
