
(KRON) — A person was hospitalized and is in critical condition Saturday after they fell from a San Francisco high-rise and landed on an awning attached to the building’s facade, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to an emergency rescue at 1000 Green Street in the city’s Russian Hill neighborhood at about 4:54 p.m.
“An individual has reportedly fallen from an unknown height onto an awning,” SFFD wrote on social media.
Firefighters used ladders to rescue the fall victim from the awning. The victim was taken by ambulance to a trauma center at about 5:20 p.m.
The San Francisco Police Department confirmed that the victim is a man and that they suffered life-threatening injures. Anyone with information about the fall is asked to contact SFPD.
