ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) — New updates on the investigation into an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Rayne Road in Port Barre on June 25.
The incident resulted in the arrest of Brylon Hebert, 17, of Port Barre, deputies said.
During the investigation, it was revealed that an officer was conducting traffic stop on a vehicle with three occupants, deputies said. As the officer approached, two passengers allegedly fled on foot, while the driver was instructed to stop the vehicle.

During the encounter, an officer allegedly discharged their weapon toward the vehicle, striking Hebert. Hebert then exited the vehicle and was detained. Herbert was then transported to a local hospital for treatment where he was later released, authorities said.
As the investigation progressed, authorities arrested and charged Hebert for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a legend drug and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, deputies said.
Yesterday, Hebert was processed into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the above charges.
Deputies said the two passengers have not been identified.
