Suspect arrested after high-speed chase ends in Denham Springs crash

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A late-night vehicle pursuit that began in Baton Rouge ended in Denham Springs with the suspect in custody, police confirmed.

According to the Denham Springs Police Department, officers assisted the Baton Rouge Police Department around 11:35 p.m. on Friday, June 27, after a suspect exited I-12 at a high rate of speed and crashed.

Following the crash, the suspect attempted to flee on foot. Officers from both agencies set up a perimeter in the area. The suspect was located and apprehended shortly after, DSPD said.

The suspect was taken into custody by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
