JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a suspect was arrested after he stabbed his mother.

The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Newman Avenue around 3:45 p.m. on June 27.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the victim was found with non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Brown said the woman’s son was taken into custody at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
