
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An arson suspect was arrested after allegedly lighting various fires in Fresno County, which ended up destroying a Parlier Police patrol car, Cal Fire said.
According to firefighters, a man was arrested after allegedly lighting up fires in the area of Parlier Avenue, cross of Zediker Avenue around 3 p.m. on Friday.
Fire crews say Parlier Police engaged the subject on a foot pursuit as he continued to light fires, leading to a Parlier Police SUV sustaining major damage from the fire.
The fire initiated by the suspect was contained to 10 acres. Selma, Orange Cove and Reedley fire departments assisted on the incident, along with the Parlier Police Department.
The identity of the suspect has not been released. This is an ongoing investigation.
