Beaverton woodchipper accident leaves one hospitalized

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person injured after being caught in a woodchipper prompted response from emergency crews in Beaverton Saturday afternoon.

Just after 3 p.m., Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded to a home in the 17400 block of Southwest Reusser Court after a woodchipper accident trapped a resident.

After stabilizing the victim, TVF&R’s technical rescue team dismantled the woodchipper and was able to remove the victim.

Officials said the victim was then taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance. Their current condition has not been released at this time.
