CHICAGO — A child was among four people injured after a truck crashed into an apartment building on the South Side early Saturday morning.
Chicago police say the crash unfolded in the 600 block of East Marquette Road just after 6 a.m.
According to police, an investigation revealed that a female, whose age is unknown, was allegedly behind the wheel of a Dodge truck when she crashed into the building.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in good condition.
Officers say three other people, a 12-year-old boy and two men in their 20s, were inside the car at the time of the crash. Following the crash, all three were hospitalized in good condition.
Police later issued the alleged driver of the vehicle three citations before she was taken into custody.
Photos captured at the scene show the badly damaged truck resting in front of a large hole in the building’s facade.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the crash and an investigation is now underway.
