SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco man is accused of murdering his mother by shooting her in the head at close range, prosecutors said.
Marvin Duran, 32, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and child endangerment during his arraignment Wednesday.
San Francisco Police Department officers found Duran’s mother laying in the front of her home on Brookdale Avenue at 3:45 p.m. June 21. She was suffering from a gunshot wound to her head.
“Multiple people witnessed Mr. Duran allegedly shoot the victim at close range. Medical aid was rendered, but medics pronounced her deceased within minutes of arrival,” the District Attorney’s Office wrote.
Duran is being held in jail without bail. The son is scheduled to return to court July 8 for a preliminary hearing.
