PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A motorcyclist died in a collision along I-95 in the early hours of Thursday morning, Virginia State Police (VSP) troopers detailed.
At around 1 a.m., a VSP trooper spotted a motorcyclist going 115 mph along southbound I-495, near Eisenhower Avenue. The trooper attempted to pull the driver over, but the motorcyclist did not stop, initiating a pursuit.
The motorcyclist continued onto southbound I-95 and took Exit 152A. The person then drove onto Route 1, where they lost control and went off the left side of the road, striking the median.
The motorcyclist was ejected from their motorcycle and died at the scene.
VSP said suspected narcotics and cash were found on the bike.
As of Thursday afternoon, authorities had not released the identity of the motorcyclist or whether the crash happened during the pursuit with the VSP trooper.
