According to their webpage, the purpose of the Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) Trash Receptacle Grant is to reduce litter in communities throughout Louisiana by providing high-quality trash bins for placement in outdoor public spaces owned by the Grantee.
Research conducted by KLB over the past few years has shown that areas with well-installed, regularly serviced, and maintained trash receptacles experience a 78% decrease in litter.
The city is hopeful that the new garbage cans will play a key role in keeping Minden beautiful and serve as another success story for Keep Louisiana Beautiful.
