1 shot on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — An individual was shot on the east side of Indianapolis on Friday morning, according to reports.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to the 3500 block of N Chester Ave. at 7:54 a.m. on a report of a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

The victim was reported to be awake and breathing.
