Woman pepper-sprayed, robbed in Whiskey Roadhouse parking lot incident; suspect in custody

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Angel Crowder, 30, for allegedly stealing a woman’s phone after pepper-spraying her.

Officers were called to the Whisky’s Roadhouse parking lot on North Main Street for reports that a woman was attacking another in the parking lot on June 25, around 2 a.m.

Authorities found the suspect driving a vehicle and pulled her over near North Main and Ford Avenue.

Officials on the scene were told by the victim that Crowder took her wig, shoes and phone after pepper-spraying her.

Crowder told authorities that the victim stole money from her while she was giving her a ride. Officers found a wig and a phone in the front seat of the car that Crowder was driving, court documents show.

She is charged with battery that caused physical contact and robbery.

Crowder was granted pretrial release on June 26.
