WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the ninth victim recovered from recent floodwaters has been positively identified as Sandra Parsons, 83, of Triadelphia.
The identification was made through the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the Wheeling-Ohio County Emergency Management Agency.
Parsons’ body was found late Tuesday in the Ohio River. She is the latest confirmed casualty following last week’s devastating floods that impacted several communities in the Ohio Valley.
The Wheeling-Ohio County Emergency Management Agency continues to coordinate with state and local partners to support recovery efforts and urges residents to check the new website for updates and available assistance.
