COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Following a day of scorching temperatures, we are tracking strong storms for your Wednesday night. Heat Index readings rose to 106 degrees for a few of us.
Tonight: Strong storms will begin to enter from the Carolinas overnight. Our primary threats are strong winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall. Timing: We could see a few storms before midnight, but the bulk of the storm look to enter around midnight and shortly after.
Weekend: Temperatures are expected to drop heading into the weekend. Expect highs in the lower 90s, with feel-like readings in the mid-90s. More unsettled weather will also be more common. Scattered storms are expected each afternoon.
