(KRON) — An Oakland man who was shot in the Upper Peralta Creek neighborhood on Monday was pronounced deceased at the hospital days later, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Authorities responded at 9:45 p.m. on Monday to the 3200 block of School Street to investigate a ShotSpotter activation. Arriving officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The man was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
On Wednesday, the victim was pronounced deceased, OPD said. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
Oakland homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No suspects were identified as of Thursday morning.
