MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Officers are investigating after a crash left one dead in Montgomery County on Tuesday, June 10.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that officers responded to the area of Veirs Mill and Newport Mill roads for a crash between an SUV and a motorcycle around 8 a.m.
MCPD said that the SUV’s driver was making a left turn from Veirs Mil Road onto Newport Mill Road when they hit a motorcyclist who was driving east on Veirs Mill Road.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle. Responders took him to the hospital, where he died on Friday.
Police identified him as 36-year-old Vincent James Rizzo of Silver Spring.
The driver and one occupant in the car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
MCPD said it was still investigating this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call 240-773-6620.
