JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Crews with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) plan to reopen the Interstate 55 northbound lanes approaching the Pearl River to the original configuration of three travel lanes Thursday night. However, both lanes of the Pearl Street exit ramp will remain temporarily closed to traffic.
On June 26, crews will begin restriping the travel lanes approaching the Pearl River bridge into their original configuration.
The lane closures were part of a major bridge deck repair on I-55 over the Pearl River.
MDOT will update the public on the reopening of the remaining closed lanes once determined. Until the work is complete, drivers are advised to slow down, stay alert for roadside crews, concrete barriers and changing traffic conditions.
