ROSEMONT, Ill. (WGN) — A man is dead after he was stabbed during an alleged knife attack on a CTA train in the northwest suburbs on Wednesday night.
Chicago police said the deadly stabbing unfolded on a Blue Line train as it passed through the 5800 block of North River Road in Rosemont.
According to police, the victim, a 42-year-old man, was riding the train when he got into an argument with a male whose age is unknown.
Officers said as the two argued, the offender allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the man.
During the incident, the victim suffered a stab wound to his thigh. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers said following the alleged stabbing, a person was taken into custody, but charges against him are pending.
Currently, it is unclear what led up to the stabbing and authorities have not yet identified the individual killed.
